ABOUT HURRICANE KIMCHI
허리케인 김치는 서울 출신의 드랙퀸으로 2010년대 초반부터 공연자, 행사 기획자, 엠씨, 활동가 등으로서 국내외에서 활발한 활동을 펼쳐오고 있습니다. 그는 퀴어 문화 인권 단체이자 연례행사인 서울드랙퍼레이드의 공동설립자이자 조직위원장입니다. 그는 직접 프로듀싱한 싱글과 뮤직비디오들을 발표하며 싱어송라이터이자 레코딩 아티스트로서 또한 활동해오고 있습니다. 2018년에는 포브스 아시아가 선정한 영향력 있는 30세 이하 30인 예술가로 이름을 올렸으며, 2023년에는 미국 국무부에서 주관하는 국제 방문자 리더십 프로그램의 동문이 되었습니다.
Hurricane Kimchi is a Seoul-born Korean drag queen who has been active in Korea and overseas as a performer, event organiser, show host, and activist since the early 2010s. She is a co-founder and the chief organiser of Seoul Drag Parade which is a queer culture and rights organisation and annual event. She is also a singer-songwriter and recording artist who has released several self-produced singles and music videos. She became a Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 Artist in 2018, and became an alumnus of the International Visitor Leadership Program by the U.S. Department of State in 2023.
